Description
The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center requires the removal of the hazardous chemical DowTherm J from the Doriot Climatic Chambers Wind Tunnel fluid system and associated storage tanks, followed by a complete replumbing of the Tropical Wind Tunnel water‑circulation system using copper piping. The work is to be performed by the sole‑source contractor SMART LLC under a firm‑fixed‑price contract modification. The effort includes hazardous material disposal, demolition of existing schedule‑80 piping, installation of new copper piping, drainage, system refill, and site restoration. The period of performance is 20 weeks starting after a Notice to Proceed, with an anticipated award by 15 Sept 2026.
• Removal and safe disposal of all DowTherm J from tropical and Arctic wind‑tunnel brine systems, underground and above‑ground tanks, and associated plumbing.

• Back‑filling and landscaping restoration where underground tanks were removed.
