Black Brook - Black Creek Drainage Study

The County of Ontario is seeking proposals for a comprehensive stream corridor study and hydrologic modeling for the Black Brook–Black Creek Hydrologic Unit 12 (HUC 12) watershed. The project aims to equip local communities and watershed partners with data-driven tools and strategies to address chronic flooding, reduce flood risk, and protect water quality and aquatic habitat. The selected consultant will conduct a field-based stream corridor assessment, watershed hydrologic modeling, and identify recommended watershed actions and projects. The project has a duration of 18 months, from May 26, 2026, to November 1, 2027. • The consultant will conduct a comprehensive stream corridor study and hydrologic modeling for the Black Brook–Black Creek watershed. • The project will identify and prioritize strategies to reduce flooding impacts, protect and enhance water quality and aquatic habitat, and strengthen wet-weather resilience. • The consultant will provide an order-of-magnitude cost estimate for each recommended action or project. • The project will incorporate an Environmental Justice Framework to ensure that recommended flood mitigation actions do not create or exacerbate adverse impacts to Disadvantaged Communities.
