1ST STREET NORTH RETAINING WALL REHABILITATION

The City of Charlottesville is seeking bids for the 1ST STREET NORTH RETAINING WALL REHABILITATION project. The project involves the demolition of approximately 15 feet of existing "rubble" retaining wall and replacement with a new RW-3 retaining wall, as well as related sidewalk, pedestrian, and landscaping reconstruction and/or restoration. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. • The project requires compliance with City of Charlottesville specifications and VDOT specifications. • The contractor must provide proof of insurance and bonds as required by the City. • The contractor must submit a bid bond in an amount equal to 5% of the total monetary amount of the bid. • The project has an anticipated start date of August 3, 2026, and a substantial completion date of September 18, 2026. • The project requires a pre-bid meeting, which is non-mandatory but strongly recommended.
