The Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP)-Planning supports organizations in rural communities to build partnerships and foundational capacity needed to develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive systems of substance use disorder (SUD) and related services. The program focuses on opioid misuse and its impact on rural America, and it aims to help communities provide sustainable prevention, treatment, recovery, and other supportive services. The program is intended for rural communities that may find it difficult to access start-up support due to the logistics or requirements of larger federal grant programs.
Key aspects of the program include:
• Building relationships with network partners and community members
• Assessing local SUD-related needs and developing a multistakeholder action plan
• Preparing rural providers, service organizations, and other key stakeholders for SUD service delivery
• Submitting progress reports, annual performance reports, and a strategic action plan
The program will provide funding for planning activities only, and it will not support direct service delivery.
