Description

The Northwest Missouri State University is seeking a qualified contractor to construct a new ADA‑compliant pedestrian corridor on College Avenue, including a sidewalk, a speed‑reduction table, and electronic push‑button crossing indicators. The work will improve safety and connectivity for students and visitors on campus. • Construct approximately 725 ft of new 8‑ft‑wide sidewalk meeting ADA standards. • Install a raised speed‑reduction table in front of the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. • Provide and integrate electronic pedestrian push‑button crossing indicators with the speed table. • All bids must be sealed hard‑copy submissions with a 5 % bid bond, and contractors must comply with Missouri State Wage Order 32, Davis‑Bacon prevailing‑wage rules, and a 10‑hour OSHA safety program within 60 days of start‑up.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $300,000

Based on typical municipal sidewalk costs (~$30‑$45 per square foot), the 7,250 sq ft (725 ft × 8 ft) sidewalk alone could range from $217,500 to $326,250. Adding a speed table ($30‑$60 k) and electronic crossing indicators ($15‑$25 k) brings the total contract value to roughly $260,000‑$400,000. Accounting for regional labor rates, prevailing‑wage premiums, and contingency, a realistic estimate for the contractor’s earnings is $200,000‑$300,000.
