Description
The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is seeking an organization to provide Preparation and Support for Families Adopting Children with Special Needs (P&S) services. The goal of this program is to help prepare prospective resource parents/families for the challenges of parenting and providing permanency to special needs children between the ages of 0-17. Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing preparation and support services to families adopting children with special needs
• Helping prospective resource parents/families understand the challenges of parenting special needs children
• Assisting in providing permanency to special needs children
• Working with the DCFS to ensure the successful implementation of the program
The ideal applicant will have experience in providing similar services and a strong understanding of the needs of special needs children and their families.
