RFQ: Municipal Prosecutor Services (Day and Night) (Re-bid)

The City of Newark is seeking to establish a pool of attorneys to provide municipal prosecutor services on an as-needed basis. The selected attorneys will provide representation in Municipal Court, including preparation of pleadings, motions, and discovery demands, and participation in settlement conferences, pre-trial motions, trials, sentencing, and post-trial conferences. The contract term will be for one year, from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, and the city will pay a flat daily fee of $250 per court session. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing municipal prosecutor services in Municipal Court • Preparing pleadings, motions, and discovery demands • Participating in settlement conferences, pre-trial motions, trials, sentencing, and post-trial conferences • Providing quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics • Having a close working relationship with the City's Law Department • Being available to accommodate required meetings of the City
