The Deep Thoughts Industry Day is an event sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to introduce the science and technology community to the Deep Thoughts program vision and goals. The program aims to develop novel small autonomous undersea vehicles (AUVs) that are independent, quick to design and produce, and easy to deploy. The event will include overview presentations, opportunities for collaboration and networking, and a chance to collect questions and provide answers. The goals of the Industry Day include introducing the S&T community to the Deep Thoughts program, facilitating interaction between potential performers, explaining the mechanics of a DARPA program, and encouraging collaboration.
• The Deep Thoughts program will leverage advancements in materials, manufacturing, and next-generation structural and mechanical design technologies.
• The program will focus on agile hardware development, with multiple waves of development increasing in complexity.
• Proposers may apply to one or both Technical Areas, with separate submissions required for each.
• The event will be held at the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) level, with an optional afternoon session at the SECRET level.
