The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is announcing a notice of funding opportunity to support the Technical Agricultural Assistance Program. The program aims to enhance biotechnology market opportunities for U.S. exporters and American farmers by removing barriers to the adoption, use, and trade of agricultural biotechnology products. The recipient of this award will collaborate with USDA/FAS in designing and implementing in-person and/or virtual seminars, workshops, and collaborative training events in Africa, Asia, Western Hemisphere/Latin America/Americas, and other relevant economic bodies and organizations. The program objectives include building awareness and knowledge of biotechnology technical assistance, providing knowledge on current trends and activities surrounding agricultural biotechnology, and supporting U.S. priorities under key forums.
• The program will focus on promoting the America First policy agenda by expanding market access for U.S. agricultural products derived from biotechnology.
• The program will support activities that promote the acceptance and adoption of agricultural products derived through genome editing via science-based, trade-facilitative regulatory frameworks.
• The program will provide knowledge on the current trends and activities surrounding agricultural biotechnology and its benefits.
• The program will support U.S. priorities under key forums, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) High Level Policy Dialogue on Agricultural Biotechnology.
