The Jones County Board of Supervisors is seeking bids for the purchase of bituminous materials in place for constructing, reconstructing, repairing, and maintaining public roads and bridges. The bid period will be for a six-month term beginning January 5, 2026, and ending June 30, 2026. Bidders must be licensed according to law and have a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the State Board of Contractors for projects costing $25,000 or more. The bid will be evaluated based on the best and/or lowest bid by line item or as a whole.
Some key points to consider:
• Bids must be in writing and include the name, address, and telephone number of the bidder.
• Bidders must use bid forms on file with the Board of Supervisors at the Laurel Courthouse.
• The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities, and to determine the best and/or lowest bid.
• Travel for pick-up and/or delivery will be considered in the determination of the best and/or lowest bid.
• The actual monthly price for petroleum products will be based on the MDOT petroleum price index published each month.
