The Vermont Agency of Transportation has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of wildlife and security fencing at the Franklin County State Airport (FSO) in Highgate, Vermont. The project includes: 1. Erosion prevention and sediment control 2. Maintenance of traffic 3. Tree clearing and grubbing 4. Demolition of existing fence 5. Installation of 8-foot chain-link fence Key details: * Bid opening: April 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM EST * Bid submission: Electronic bids only * Contract completion date: July 31, 2027 * FAA grant approval: The contract award is contingent upon FAA grant funding * Bid bond: 5% of the contractor's bid * Prequalification: Contractors must hold current annual prequalification with the Vermont Agency of Transportation * Standard specifications: The 2024 Standard Specifications for Construction will be used The project estimates include: * Chain-link fence installation: 6,600 linear feet * Fence removal: 1,600 linear feet * Vehicle gates: 6 units * Pedestrian gates: 1 unit * Seeding and mulching: 15.6 acres and 75,500 square yards, respectively The Vermont Agency of Transportation reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formalities or technicalities in bids. The agency also ensures that minority business enterprises and disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against.
