AFPSL Load Cell Exchange

The Air Force Primary Standards Lab (AFMETCAL) is soliciting a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for the purchase of various load cells and indicators for the AFPSL Load Cell Exchange. The contract will be awarded to Tovey Engineering, Inc., the manufacturer of the original calibration system, due to proprietary technology and software that cannot be released to another company. The requirement includes the delivery of specific load cells and indicators, adapters, and travel cases, with a total anticipated quantity of 175 units over a 5-year period. The contractor must provide a standard 1-year warranty for each load cell and indicator, and the items will be inspected and accepted at a destination specified in the contract. • The load cells and indicators must be compatible with each other and the Tovey Engineering, Inc. P/N C3-100 Vertical Force Press. • The uncertainty of the C3-100 Vertical Force Press shall not exceed 0.025% of reading when utilizing the load cells and digital indicators being provided. • A simple box shall be provided to safely store each load cell and digital indicator. • Each load cell shall have an integrated 6-wire, 10-foot cable.
