Description

The City of Havelock is seeking bids for the replacement of existing storm water drainage pipes with new 36” High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and the replacement of two drop inlets and one catch basin. The project involves the excavation and removal of the existing 24” Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) and the installation of the new HDPE pipe. The contractor will be responsible for bypass pumping, backfilling, and compacting, as well as restoring all disturbed areas to their original condition. The project is divided into three line items, and the City of Havelock reserves the right to accept any, all, or none of the portions of work listed. • The project requires the replacement of approximately 325 linear feet of 24” RCP with 36” HDPE pipe. • The contractor must excavate and remove the existing RCP and install the new HDPE pipe, including bedding and backfilling. • The contractor must also replace two drop inlets and one catch basin with new precast concrete structures. • The project includes the restoration of all disturbed areas, including asphalt, concrete, and landscaping. • The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and environmental regulations.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Based on the scope of the project, which includes the replacement of approximately 325 linear feet of 24” RCP with 36” HDPE pipe, the replacement of two drop inlets and one catch basin, and the restoration of all disturbed areas, the estimated budget for this project could be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the cost of materials, labor, and equipment will be around $150 to $300 per linear foot of pipe, and the cost of replacing the drop inlets and catch basin will be around $10,000 to $20,000 each. Additionally, the cost of restoration and other miscellaneous expenses will add to the overall cost of the project.
