Description
The City of Sandy Springs is seeking bids from a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) pre-qualified prime contractor to perform sidewalk improvements along Jett Ferry Road and Spalding Drive. The project involves installation of new sidewalk, reconstruction of driveway transitions, drainage and retaining wall improvements, and pedestrian safety upgrades. The contractor must maintain two-way vehicular traffic and access throughout construction and comply with all GDOT Standard Specifications. The project is funded through the Sandy Springs TSPLOST program.
• The project includes the construction of sidewalk on Jett Ferry Road from existing sidewalk at Jett Ferry Court to Spalding Drive and from 3245 Spalding Drive to 7655 Dunvegan Close.
• The eastern terminus of the project includes a rapid flashing beacon and crosswalk with associated pavement markings to connect sidewalk on the north and south side of Spalding Drive.
• The project will install approximately 1,875 LF of sidewalk, reconstruction of driveway transitions, drainage structures, gravity wall, and other associated improvements.
• The contractor must perform at least 51% of the work directly and be a pre-qualified Prime Contractor listed by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
• The project is expected to be completed within 200 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
