Description
The State of Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) seeks a qualified design firm to provide complete professional design services for the replacement of three vehicle gates (Gates 1, 1A, 18) and associated accessories at the Iowa Medical Classification Center (IMCC) in Coralville, IA. The scope includes field examination, detailed design drawings, coordination with existing security and control systems, preparation of construction‑document packages, cost estimating, and construction‑administration support through the bidding and construction phases. The contract will be awarded under a modified ConsensusDoc 803 agreement and will run from design kickoff (late Nov 2026) through project close‑out (July 2027).
• Design of gate structures, operators, locks, razor‑wire, fencing, and integration with existing door‑control, Senstar detection, and camera systems.
• Production of 50 % and 95 % construction document sets with cost opinions.
• Coordination with State agencies, utility verification, and code‑review processes.
• Construction‑phase services: bid assistance, submittal review, RFIs, change orders, site observations, and final close‑out documentation.
• Mandatory participation in scheduled design review meetings and bi‑weekly construction conference calls.
