Automated Fiber Placement Thermoplastic Processing Head

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) is seeking information from companies that can provide a Thermoplastic Fiber Placement (TPFP) Head compatible with their currently installed Trelleborg XTS-400 AFP system. The TPFP Head should be able to process thermoplastic resin materials and be interchangeable with the currently configured thermoset processing head. The contractor shall provide the TPFP Head, conduct internal bench testing, and provide on-site installation and training. The contract is expected to be awarded on a sole source basis. Some key points to consider are: • The TPFP Head must be compatible with the Trelleborg XTS-400 AFP system. • The contractor shall provide a capability statement that clearly indicates their experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the required work. • The contract includes a 1-year warranty against defects of material and workmanship. • The contractor shall provide spare parts warranty good for 90 days starting from the date of shipment. • The Government will be responsible for providing the XTS-400 AFP system and utility connections to the equipment.
