National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) High Plains Regional Weather Records Center (HPRWRC)

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is seeking a contractor to provide services for the High Plains Regional Weather Records Center (HPRWRC). The HPRWRC will provide products and services to address regional weather records needs and issues in the context of NOAA's broader environmental information responsibilities. The contractor will be responsible for transforming NOAA's satellite, in situ, radar, and paleoclimate data and products into regionally-tailored products and services. The key areas of focus for the HPRWRC include regional engagement and user needs identification, needs prioritization and product provision, transitioning tools and products to sustained NOAA operational states, and services to support NOAA's regional and national needs. Some of the specific tasks and deliverables include: • Providing products and services to address regional weather records needs and issues • Transforming NOAA's data and products into regionally-tailored products and services • Engaging with industry, economic and environmental sectors, and public sector constituencies to understand their long-term weather-related issues and needs • Adapting or developing tools, products, and services to meet user requirements • Supporting NOAA in the collection, understanding, adjudication, and translation of user needs to requirements for future products and/or product modifications • Planning and executing transition projects to result in new or upgraded NOAA operational software, systems, products, services, and other capabilities.
