2025 Purchase of (1) XplorIR Handheld Gas Identification System

The City of Champaign is seeking requests for proposals from qualified vendors to furnish the Champaign Fire Department with one XplorIR Handheld Gas Identification System. The system will be utilized during hazardous materials response operations and must meet specific requirements, including a minimum one-year warranty, 24/7/365 Reach Back Support, and a minimum of 5,600 gases, vapors, and chemicals in its library. The proposal must include detailed technical responses, costs, and a company profile. • The XplorIR System must be a hand-held design and portable, allowing it to be passed from one firefighter to another within hazardous environments. • The system must have a minimum of a 3.0” diagonal LED full color display and be clearly visible in diminished lighting. • The system must be equipped with a quantification module that will allow identification of up to 6 mixture components. • The vendor must provide 8 hours of hands-on training to members of the fire department hazardous materials team prior to placing the system in service.
