Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources of commercial products or services that can provide a coupled device detector camera system. The system should have an integrated intensifier and control/data analysis software, and it should be capable of characterizing plasma chemistry. The camera should have an electron multiplication charge coupled device (IEMCCD) sensor chip, an intensifier, a lens, and electronics used to control the camera. The technical specifications for the camera and software are detailed in the document. • The camera should have a back-illuminated, electron multiplication charge coupled device sensor type. • The intensifier diameter should be 18 mm or larger. • The intensifier type should be Gen III. • The intensifier minimum gating time should be 1 nanosecond or less. • The phosphor type should be P43. • The maximum equivalent background illuminance at room temperature should be 0.3 electrons/pixel/sec. • The quantum efficiency at different wavelengths should be greater than or equal to the specified values. • The chip size should be greater than or equal to 12.5 mm by greater than or equal to 12.5 mm. • The pixel format should be greater than or equal to 1024 pixels by greater than or equal to 1024 pixels. • The pixel dimensions should be less than or equal to 16 microns by less than or equal to 16 microns (square). • The digitization should be greater than or equal to 16 bits. • The camera should be selectable between CCD or electron multiplication CCD mode of operation. • The electron multiplication gain should be 1 to greater than or equal to 1000x. • The sensor readout noise in EMCCD mode at different frequencies should be less than or equal to the specified values. • The sensor vertical shift rate should be 4 microsecond/row or faster. • The dark current at −20 degrees C should be less than or equal to 3 electrons/pixel/second. • The thermo-electric cooling with minimum sensor temperature should be less than or equal to −20 degrees C (in 20 degrees C air). • The data transfer interface should be a high-speed interface such as USB 3.0 or Gigabit ethernet. • The camera should have a high voltage pulser built in. • The camera should be supplied with a 50 mm focal length, f/1.2 lens. • The camera should be supplied with an adapter for F-mount lenses. • The camera should be supplied with an adapter for C-mount lenses. • The camera should be supplied with an adapter so as to permit the camera head to be mounted onto an Acton 2300i imaging spectrograph, an Acton 2500i imaging spectrograph, or an Acton 2500SP imaging spectrograph.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide information on the budget or the potential contract value. However, based on the technical specifications and the requirements for the camera system, it is likely that the contract value will be in the range of $50,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the camera system will be a specialized piece of equipment with high-end technical specifications, and that the contract will include not only the purchase of the equipment but also installation, training, and maintenance services.
