FHC-2

The Family Homelessness Challenge Grants (FHC-2) provide competitive grants and technical assistance to local jurisdictions to promote rapid innovation and expand promising practices to create scalable solutions that can be shared across the state to address and ultimately end family homelessness. The grants are available to eligible FHC-1 grantees who submit an innovative proposal that expands, complements, augments, and/or strengthens their FHC-1 proposal. The proposals should demonstrate potential for being scaled and replicated to support statewide efforts to eliminate family homelessness. Key aspects of the grant include: • Preventing homelessness whenever possible • Ending homelessness quickly through Housing First approaches and housing outcomes • Ensuring that homelessness is a one-time experience • Demonstrating cross-systems collaboration, multifunder initiatives, and innovative efforts that coordinate across funding streams and systems • Promoting rapid innovation, accelerating nascent programs, expanding promising practices, and meeting new demands and conditions for solutions targeted towards ending family homelessness.
