Description
The USDA Forest Service is seeking a contractor to perform thinning and slash treatment services on the Dave Wood DxP IRSC project in Colorado. The project aims to increase forest health and vigor and reduce hazardous fuels to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire. The contractor will be required to thin ponderosa pine plantations, mechanically cut and skid trees, and masticate slash. The project has a period of performance from the date of award through June 16, 2027.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Thinning from below in ponderosa pine plantation to an average spacing of 16x16 feet
• Mechanically cutting and skidding trees to landings to be decked or removed from the contract area
• Mechanically masticating slash less than 5” diameter or chipping slash and removing
• Road maintenance
The contractor will be required to submit a technical proposal and a price proposal, and the contract will be awarded based on the best value to the government.
