Description
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is seeking proposals for the design, manufacture, testing, furnishing, and delivery of a Light Rail Vehicle Wheel Turning Machine system and a chip conveyor system. The system must include all equipment, controls, enclosures, wiring, motors, and related items necessary for a complete operating system. The selected contractor will be responsible for delivering manuals, drawings, training, and support goods and services. Key aspects of the proposal include:
• Design and manufacture of the wheel turning machine system
• Installation of the system (although machine installation is not part of this contract)
• Testing and commissioning of the system
• Training and support for VTA personnel
• Compliance with VTA's Business Development Program requirements
• Adherence to insurance and indemnification requirements
• Quality assurance and warranty provisions
The evaluation criteria for the proposal include technical proposal, previous experience and past performance, manufacturing capability, work plan and schedule, quality control, price, and installation support, start-up, and testing services.
