Torrington Transfer Station: MSW & Recycling Management & Operations

The State of CT - DAS Procurement is seeking information for the management and operation of the Torrington Transfer Station, a facility that has been operated by the Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority (MIRA) but is now being temporarily operated by the State of CT Department of Administrative Services (DAS). The facility has contracts in place with municipalities, haulers, recycling facilities, a facility operator, and a scale operator through June 30, 2027. The Northwest Hills Council of Governments is interested in ensuring the facility remains a public facility and is considering acquiring and managing it.
