Description

The United States Navy is conducting market research to gauge the experience, capabilities, and technical proficiency of various shipyards in plural component spray systems. The Navy is requesting information from interested shipyards, which will assist the Government in understanding the extent of shipyards' capabilities. The request for information includes four questions that shipyards must answer, including past performance, coating manufacturer experience, quality assurance and quality control protocols, and applicator training and qualifications. • The Navy is looking for shipyards with experience in applying plural-component coatings on Department of War (DoW), Department of Defense (DoD), or large-scale commercial vessels. • The Navy wants to know about the specific coating manufacturers and product lines that shipyards have experience with. • The Navy is interested in understanding the quality assurance and quality control protocols that shipyards have in place for plural-component spray systems. • The Navy wants to know about the training and qualifications of applicators who will be operating the plural-component spray systems.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

Since this is a request for information and not a solicitation for a contract, there is no budget amount specified. However, based on the complexity of the technology and the industry, the budget for a potential contract could be substantial. If a contract were to be awarded, the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000, depending on the scope of work and the requirements of the contract. The budget could be influenced by factors such as the size of the shipyard, the number of plural component spray systems required, and the level of expertise and experience of the shipyard.
