Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a high purity germanium detector (HPGe) with cryo-cooling on transport cart with shielding sets and onboard efficiency calibration and software perpetual license. The detector system will be used in the neutron/gamma field generated by a portable neutron generator and the irradiated sample environment and connected by timing electronics with neutron/gamma detectors for coincidence detection. • The detector should have an endcap diameter of 3.00” and an Al endcap window. • The efficiency should be greater than 25%. • The energy resolution WHM at 1332 keV should be less than 2 keV. • The peak to Compton ratio should be greater than 50. • The detector should have a transistor reset preamplifier and complete with transport cart and collimator shielding. • The detector should have self-contained efficiency calibration based on detector geometry.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as it is a request for information and not a solicitation for a specific contract. However, based on the complexity of the equipment being requested, the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the equipment is a high-end analytical laboratory instrument, and the cost of such instruments can vary widely depending on the specific features and capabilities.
