Description
The State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, is seeking bids for the replacement of industrial brakes on a moveable bridge. The original GE Thrustor Brakes are no longer commercially available, and the proposed replacement brakes must meet specific requirements, including supporting a 13-inch or 19-inch brake wheel diameter and having a brake torque setting of at least 660 lb.-ft. or 1800 lb.-ft. The brakes will be delivered to the IDOT Cass Street Moveable Bridge over the Des Plaines River in Joliet, IL.
• The replacement brakes must be sized for a specific brake wheel diameter and have a specific brake torque setting.
• The brakes must meet requirements listed in the attached documents.
