The National Park Service is seeking a 100 % small‑business‑set‑aside, firm‑fixed‑price contractor to stabilize the historic Staple Bend Tunnel at the Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historical Site. The work includes rock‑bolting, scaling, fossil inventory, void‑fill concrete, mesh and gunite installation, drainage, signage, and site mobilization, with optional 3‑D scanning and bat‑house installation. The contractor must comply with extensive historic‑preservation, environmental, and safety regulations, and provide qualified personnel (paleontologist, team leader, safety officer) as required. The period of performance is 190 calendar days after a full notice to proceed, with interior work limited to May 16 ‑ Oct 15 2027.
