The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking proposals from qualified Proposers to provide professional design and planning services for a Stage 0 stream and floodplain restoration project in the Umpqua National Forest. The goal of this project is to restore natural hydrologic, geomorphic, and ecological processes by reestablishing a dynamic, self-sustaining wetland-stream complex that reflects a Stage 0 condition. The selected consultant will be responsible for conceptual through permit-ready designs that support the reestablishment of valley-bottom connectivity, promote multi-threaded channel development, and enhance habitat for native aquatic and riparian species.
• The project involves designing a Stage 0 restoration project that meets habitat improvement objectives.
• The consultant will conduct surveys, data collection, cut and fill volume estimates, hydraulic analysis, wood estimates, and other analyses needed to create design plans.
• The design considerations should include protecting roads, culverts, and other infrastructures from damage.
• The project has a total estimated budget for design services between $450,000 and $550,000.
• The project is planned to complete restoration construction in 2027.
