Description
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from a qualified firm(s) to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for District 7 - Chamblee. The scope of work includes construction engineering and inspection services for highway and bridge construction projects. The selected consultant will be responsible for performing independent complex inspections of roadways and structure construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract.
• The consultant will perform moderately complex inspections and supervise other inspectors conducting routine and standardized inspections.
• The consultant will perform contract documentation duties, including field measurements of pay items and other Department required documentation.
• The consultant will participate in Concept Meetings, Field Plan Reviews, CPM schedule reviews, project close-out, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• The consultant will have knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction, and mathematical functions including geometry and trigonometry.
• The consultant will have drafting skill and skill in the use of office equipment such as calculators and computers.
• The consultant will have the ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures.
