Description

The City of Corona is seeking competitive, sealed electronic bids for the supply and delivery of a broad list of bulk water‑treatment and water‑reclamation chemicals on an as‑needed basis. Each chemical will be awarded separately to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. The contract is a four‑year firm‑price agreement with two optional one‑year renewals, and pricing must remain fixed for the base term. Vendors must meet extensive insurance requirements, provide certifications, and submit a full suite of required forms via the PlanetBids portal. • Covers dozens of chemicals (e.g., sodium hypochlorite, aluminum sulfate, ammonium hydroxide, various polymers, acids, bases, corrosion inhibitors) with annual volumes ranging from 700 gal to over 1 million gal. • Delivery is made to multiple Corona water‑treatment and reclamation facilities; shipments must be FOB destination, documented with COA, SDS, weight tickets, and meet AWWA/NSF‑60 standards. • Mandatory insurance (General Liability $2 M, Auto $2 M, Pollution $2 M, Workers’ Comp $1 M, etc.) and a local‑bid preference (5 % price reduction for qualifying Corona businesses on purchases ≤ $200 k). • All bids must be uploaded electronically by the April 14 2026 deadline; no hard‑copy submissions are accepted.

Budget estimate

$5,000,000 – $15,000,000

Based on the listed annual quantities (e.g., ~1 million gallons of sodium hypochlorite, tens of thousands of gallons of acids, bases, polymers) and typical market prices for bulk water‑treatment chemicals (roughly $0.50‑$2.00 per gallon for hypochlorite, $1‑$3 per gallon for acids/bases, $0.20‑$0.80 per pound for polymers), the total annual spend could range from $4 million to $12 million. Over the four‑year base term, this translates to an estimated contract value of roughly $5 million to $15 million, depending on actual usage, price adjustments, and optional renewals.
