Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking to acquire a state-of-the-art laser-scanning microscope system with confocal, 3D-STED, FLIM, and spectral multiplexing imaging capabilities. The system will replace a 12-year-old Leica SP8 microscope and will be used as a shared resource by many laboratories within the NIH. The required specifications include a white light laser with tunable excitation range, prism-based spectral detection, and five Hybrid detectors. The system must also provide advanced confocal imaging capability, 3D STED super-resolution microscopy, and FLIM hardware and software. • The system must meet all salient characteristics and minimum requirements specified in the solicitation. • The vendor must provide sufficient technical documentation to demonstrate equivalency if offering an "equal" product. • The system must be suitable for use as a shared resource supporting multiple laboratories. • The vendor must provide delivery, installation, startup, training, warranty, and manufacturer-supported service.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $1,500,000

Based on the complexity and requirements of the microscope system, the estimated budget range is between $500,000 and $1,500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the system will include all the required components and services, such as the microscope, detectors, software, installation, training, and warranty. The actual budget amount may vary depending on the vendor's quote and the NIH's budget for the project.
