Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking a qualified sculptor to design, fabricate, and install an exterior bronze sculpture exhibit featuring a life-like caribou family at the Tok Main Street Interagency Visitor Center in Alaska. The sculptor will be responsible for providing the labor to install the sculptures and related "touchup work," as well as securing their preferred welding equipment and operating it. The government will provide some equipment for installation, such as a hoist/lift, straps, ladders, and power tools. The project will involve several milestones, including the delivery of design phase small-scale maquettes and initial sketches, a caribou sculpture model, a wax model, and the bronze casting of the sculptures. The contractor must also furnish a detailed diagram of the sculpture base to ensure proper preparation of the concrete pad. Some key aspects of the project include: • The sculptor must provide a life-like caribou family sculpture exhibit • The sculptures will be installed on the Visitor Center lawn • The government will provide some equipment for installation • The contractor must furnish a detailed diagram of the sculpture base • The project will involve several milestones, including design phase deliverables and site installation

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this project is likely to be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000, considering the complexity of the project, the materials required, and the labor involved. The government will provide some equipment for installation, but the contractor will be responsible for providing the labor, welding equipment, and bronze finishing compounds. The project will involve several milestones, including design phase deliverables and site installation, which will also impact the budget.
