Aleutian Homes Phase VII Water and Sewer Determination of Categorical Exclusion

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation's State Revolving Fund Program has determined that the Aleutian Homes Phase VII Water Main Replacement and Sewer Replacement projects are eligible for a Categorical Exclusion. The projects will replace 2,600 feet of 8-inch diameter water main and 2,100 feet of sewer main, as well as associated service lines and appurtenances. The existing asbestos-cement pipe will be upgraded to C-900 PVC. The projects are eligible for a Categorical Exclusion because they will not significantly affect the degree of treatment or capacity of the existing facility, will not directly or indirectly affect cultural resources or environmentally important natural resources, and will not have a significant effect on the quality of the human environment. * The projects will replace 2,600 feet of 8-inch diameter water main and 2,100 feet of sewer main. * The existing asbestos-cement pipe will be upgraded to C-900 PVC. * Curb/gutter, sidewalk, and pavement impacted by the work will be restored. * The projects are eligible for a Categorical Exclusion under 18 AAC 76.235 and 18 AAC 76.040. * A DWSRF loan of $2,200,000 and a CWSRF loan of $3,600,000 have been requested for these projects.
