Description

This solicitation calls for a contractor to fully remove, demolish, and dispose of ten abandoned vessels located in Charleston County, South Carolina. The work includes extracting each vessel (or its remnants) from the water, handling hazardous materials, transporting the vessels to a dry‑dock facility, performing demolition, and disposing of all material in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. If a vessel is buried beneath sediment, the contractor must also excavate the sediment unless shoreline protection concerns dictate otherwise. The contractor must provide appropriate marine‑salvage equipment, qualified personnel, insurance, and coordinate with SCDNR personnel for security and permitting.

Budget estimate

$1,500,000 – $3,000,000

The contract involves full‑service removal, demolition, hazardous‑material handling, and disposal of ten vessels. Assuming an average cost of $150,000–$300,000 per vessel (including equipment, labor, permits, and waste disposal), the total contract value could range from roughly $1.5 million to $3 million. Factors influencing the final amount include vessel size, condition, sediment depth, distance to the dry‑dock, and any additional environmental mitigation required.
