Type A Reusable Shielded Container Rental and Transportation

The Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is seeking a quote for the rental and transportation of a fully compliant shielded, reusable, multi-use Type A container for the shipment of radioactive waste. The container must be able to hold at least 9 1000 lb. 55-gallon drums. The contractor will be responsible for decontamination services. BNL intends to have one shipment per year. The contractor must provide a driver, and the driver must be from a transportation company listed on the DOE Motor Carrier Evaluation Program (MCEP). • The contractor must provide a Type A Shielded container that meets the specified requirements. • The contractor must be responsible for decontamination services. • The contractor must provide a driver from a transportation company listed on the DOE Motor Carrier Evaluation Program (MCEP). • The contractor must be able to transport the container to and from the designated disposal facility. • The contractor must be able to provide loading and unloading support as needed.
