Description
South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC) is seeking a qualified Labor Counsel to provide comprehensive legal representation and advisory services related to labor matters. The selected counsel will advise the Board of Directors and the CEO, attend board meetings, assist in labor negotiations, represent SJPC in all labor‑related litigation, and investigate labor complaints. The contract is for an initial one‑year term with two optional one‑year renewals, and compensation will be negotiated directly with SJPC.
• Represents SJPC in all labor‑related legal matters and advises the Board/CEO.
• Handles labor negotiations, disciplinary actions, arbitrations, mediations, and related disputes.
• Maintains records, may settle matters only with prior Board approval, and must provide a smooth transition to any successor.
• Requires a New Jersey‑licensed attorney (or firm of NJ attorneys) and is classified as professional services.
