Airfield East Lighting Vault Docking Station

The City of Charlotte is seeking a qualified contractor to install a new generator docking station inside the East Lighting Vault of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The docking station will provide a temporary/emergency power connection ahead of the existing Automatic Transfer Switch, replace existing lighting with LED fixtures, and include all associated civil, electrical, and fire‑stop work. The work must be performed within a secure airport area, adhere to strict security and safety protocols, and be completed within 180 calendar days of notice to proceed, followed by a 45‑day final completion period. • Install a 1600 A, 480/277 V generator docking station (including concrete pad, conduit, and wiring) and integrate it with the standby‑power system. • Perform concrete cutting, new pad construction, conduit routing, panel relocation, and LED lighting retrofit inside the vault. • Deliver all required shop drawings, as‑built documentation, testing & commissioning, and comply with airport security (SIDA badge, construction security plan) and code (2020 NEC, ASCE‑7‑10, NC Building Code).
