Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking qualified construction contractors to perform a sitewide removal, modification, fabrication, and installation of permanent ADA-compliant handrail systems across multiple buildings on the NIST Boulder Campus. The project includes selective demolition and reconstruction of concrete stair and curb elements at specified locations. The contractor must be able to perform a Firm-Fixed-Price construction contract and comply with OSHA, applicable building codes, and NIST safety requirements.
• Removal of existing lower guardrails and associated components
• Installation of new middle/center handrails where required
• Installation of ADA-compliant handrails on stairs and ramps
• Demolition and reconstruction of specified concrete stairs and curb sections
• Installation of sleeves, weather-strip treads, and moisture protection elements
• Matching existing exterior paint finishes
