Large Water Valve and Vault Retrofit

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is soliciting bids for the replacement of an existing 24-inch valve and vault with a new 24-inch valve. The project is located near the intersection of Randolph Road and Old Columbia in Silver Spring, MD, within the 495A pressure zone. The primary function of the valve is to isolate sections of the transmission main during repairs and replacement work. The contractor must have experience in the installation of large diameter water mains and demonstrate successful experience in managing multiple sub-contractors, preparation of contractor submittals, and project quality control. The contractor must also have a safety plan and provide evidence of an OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of less than 2.67 for each of the last three years.
