The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement for the project "Restore Habitat for Utah Prairie Dogs". The project aims to develop a diverse youth internship program to provide education and experiences for youth, stimulate community engagement, and cultivate the next generation of conservation professionals. The project will provide opportunities for under-represented diverse youth to learn about the environment by spending time working on conservation projects. The National Park Service will provide federal oversight, technical assistance, and work space.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Developing a youth internship program for diverse youth from the local community
• Providing opportunities for youth to work on conservation projects, including trail rehabilitation and invasive plant removal
• Cultivating the next generation of conservation professionals
• Promoting stewardship and community engagement
