RFQ Emergency Repair Program

The City of Syracuse is seeking contractors to provide emergency repair services for occupied rental housing. The goal of the program is to prevent unnecessary tenant displacement and housing instability due to safety and habitability issues. Contractors with experience in plumbing, HVAC, roofing, electrical, or structural work are encouraged to submit qualifications. The City will select contractors to join a qualified contractor pool, and work scopes will be distributed to these contractors for bid solicitation. • The program aims to address code violations that create an immediate threat or repeated threat to the health and safety of tenants. • Contractors will be required to obtain necessary permits and approvals, and to maintain insurance coverage. • The City anticipates program funds to be applied to approximately thirty properties that meet program eligibility annually. • The contract is expected to be for a two-year period, with the option for a one-year extension.
