Description

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is accepting applications for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Process and Technology Improvement Grants (PTIGs) to support efforts by State agencies and their community-based and faith-based partners to develop and implement projects that use technology to improve the quality and efficiency of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application and eligibility determination systems. The grants will support one or more of the three objectives: modernizing SNAP customer service and client communication, improving administrative infrastructure and day-to-day SNAP operations, and investing in technology and systems to coordinate application and eligibility determination processes. Eligible entities include State agencies administering SNAP, State or local governments, public and private agencies providing health or welfare services, and private nonprofit entities. The application package must include a project narrative, budget narrative, and required forms. The budget should include itemized costs for personnel, travel, equipment, and supplies, as well as a justification for each expense. • The applicant must clearly identify the objective(s) they have selected and map their proposed activities and indicators measuring the success and outcomes of their project to their selected objective(s). • The applicant must submit letters of endorsement and/or letters of commitment with the application through Grants.gov. • The applicant must ensure that the budget and budget narrative are in line with the proposal project description. • The applicant must address how they will cover ongoing costs after the grant period ends. • The applicant must ensure that the project has a strong qualitative and quantitative evaluation plan that will use data to show that the project is resolving the problem identified.
