Police Chief Executive Search

The City of Independence is seeking a qualified executive recruiting firm to assist in the recruitment of a new Police Chief. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting a national search, stakeholder meetings, advertisement of the vacant position, outreach to potential candidates, and screening of received applications. The City's goal is to provide an open and fair recruitment process that will attract top talent while keeping the cost of the recruitment process reasonable. The scope of services includes acting as the primary contact to guide and advise the City through the recruitment and selection process, interviewing staff to obtain feedback, coordinating stakeholder input, reviewing and providing recommendations for revisions to the job description, developing recruitment materials, conducting a comprehensive outreach campaign, reviewing and screening candidates, and assisting the City in making determinations regarding the inclusion of administrative assessment, psychological testing, and other testing mechanisms. • Conducting a national search for a new Police Chief • Coordinating stakeholder input and community outreach • Developing recruitment materials and conducting a comprehensive outreach campaign • Reviewing and screening candidates • Assisting the City in making determinations regarding the inclusion of administrative assessment and psychological testing • Providing sound advice and information on the process to the city staff, elected officials, and the public as appropriate
