Description

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) to award funds to eligible and qualified entities to support the STOP Sexual Assault and PREA Compliance Program. The program aims to enhance local communities' capacity to develop and strengthen effective strategies to combat domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise and leadership in providing sexual assault services, designate funds to build capacity and address training needs specific to sexual assault, and actively engage in Sexual Assault Response Teams or Coordinated Community Response Teams. The applicant will also develop a project budget and work plan that includes innovative approaches to address priority areas, such as developing, enlarging, or strengthening programs addressing sexual assault against men, women, and youth in correctional and detention settings. Some key aspects of the job include: • Prioritizing sexual assault victim safety, privacy, and confidentiality • Having staff dedicated to providing sexual assault services • Coordinating services within the organization and the community to promote high-quality, integrated support • Describing how they ensure services are fully accessible to all victims of sexual assault • Developing and regularly updating protocols and policies centered on sexual assault • Collecting and analyzing data on sexual assault service utilization, conducting regular needs assessments, and evaluating practices to ensure alignment with national standards and best practices • Offering opportunities for sexual assault survivors to provide feedback about services

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $350,000

The total anticipated funds for subgrants under this RFA is $356,000. The budget amount will depend on the applications received and the actual money awarded to MSDH from the Federal Awarding Agency. Considering the program's goals and objectives, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $200,000 to $350,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of applicants, the quality of the applications, and the availability of funds.
