Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking sources that can provide Clean Room maintenance and repair services, specifically for the replacement of HEPA filters in Building 215. The contractor will perform a series of tasks, including pre-demolition testing, replacement of variable air volume terminal units, repair and diagnostics of existing control systems, and installation of new exhaust air valves. The contractor must also rebalance air handling units, exhaust fans, and tools to airflows indicated in construction documents. The project is expected to last 16-19 months, and the contractor must be able to work 24/7, starting on Friday evenings and continuing through the weekend, to minimize outages of the cleanroom. The contractor must also be able to protect and work around irreplaceable, existing tools and equipment to prevent damage. • The contractor must have experience with similar types of requirements and scope of work. • The contractor must be able to meet the work schedule requirements and work 24/7 as needed. • The contractor must be able to manage specialty trades and team closely with the Owner to deliver project requirements. • The contractor must be able to provide unit costs as part of the bid package for review. • The contractor must be able to document all work and provide calibration certificates, final air balance reports, and other documentation as required.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

The budget for this project is estimated to be in the range of $1 million to $5 million, based on the scope of work and the fact that the contractor must have experience with similar projects greater than $1.5M. The actual budget will depend on the specific services provided and the materials and labor required to complete the project. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the work, the number of HEPA filters to be replaced, and the need for specialized equipment and labor.
