The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking a quotation for the acquisition of one (1) completely automated, one-box, mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser source with automated DeepSee dispersion compensation, optimized for use with an existing Leica multiphoton microscope system. The laser is required to restore operation of the laboratory's two-photon microscope, which is the only instrument available to the laboratory capable of observing living muscle cells in real time, deep within intact tissue, without damaging the cells. The offered laser shall meet or exceed the following salient characteristics: completely automated, one-box, mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser source with automated DeepSee dispersion compensation, optimized for Leica multiphoton microscope models, wide tuning range: 690–1040 nm, pulse duration < 100 fsec, CPU controlled with user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI), and more.
• The laser is for the Muscle Energetics Laboratory, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
• The delivery location is National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Muscle Energetics Laboratory, 50 South Drive, Room 1408, Bethesda, MD 20892.
• The delivery, installation, beam alignment with the existing Leica multiphoton microscope, and operator training shall be completed no later than 180 days after receipt of order.
• The offeror shall submit a technical proposal, price proposal, past performance information, and other required documents.
