The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking information from potential vendors for a preventive maintenance and unlimited repair agreement for a Thermo Fisher Q Exactive mass spectrometer. The agreement would include maintenance and repair services for the instrument, as well as the instrument-controlling computer and software programs. The FDA is looking for vendors who can provide certified original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and service technicians who are formally trained and certified by the original manufacturer. The agreement would be for a base year plus two option years.
Some key requirements for the agreement include:
• One scheduled on-site planned preventive maintenance visit per year
• Unlimited on-site corrective maintenance/repairs within 3 business days of call for service
• Priority response time (within 24 hours) after initial receipt of service call
• Access to OEM technical developments and unlimited OEM system software, firmware, and hardware support and updates
• Troubleshooting capabilities based on complete knowledge of the entire instrument
• Immediate access to certified replacement parts and improvements and new procedures provided by the original vendor and manufacturer
