Description
The City of Lynchburg is seeking bids for the modernization of the Lynchburg Public Library. The project includes renovation of the existing library facility, including reconfiguration of exterior hardscaping, addition of new skylights, a large front wall opening, a new entrance canopy, and other new small window openings. The scope of interior demolition work includes complete removal of existing interior partitions, ceilings, lights, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communications. The scope of interior new work includes new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment, walls, ceilings, doors, lights, finishes, and communications equipment. The project requires a pre-bid conference, and all requests for clarification or questions must be made in writing to the procurement contact by December 10, 2025.
• The project is expected to commence within 10 days after the notice to proceed and must be substantially completed within 365 calendar days.
• The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any defects.
• The contractor must provide a performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the base bid.
• The contractor must also provide proof of insurance and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
