Wild Rose Park Landscape Improvements

The City of West Des Moines is seeking bids for the construction of stormwater BMP and landscape enhancements at Wild Rose Park. The project includes the construction of a bioretention cell, earthwork, amended soil installation, and landscape plantings. A bid alternate includes the creation of a rain garden with plantings, limestone steps, and an overflow standpipe. The project must be completed by October 16, 2026. • The project requires the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of the improvements. • The contractor will be responsible for site preparation, excavation, backfilling, and planting of trees, shrubs, and perennials. • The contractor must ensure that all plant material is true to name, healthy, and free of pests and diseases. • The contractor will be required to perform initial watering of all plant material and provide subsequent watering as needed. • The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the plantings during the establishment period, including pruning, weeding, and fertilizing. • The contractor must ensure that all work is done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications approved by the City. • The contractor will be required to provide a warranty for the plantings for a period of one year after initial acceptance.
