Description

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) seeks a commercial vendor to supply one laboratory microtome for the Bladder Cancer Section’s research. The microtome must provide precise, reproducible section thickness for paraffin‑embedded tissue, include safety features, and be ergonomically designed for repeated use. Delivery and installation are expected within one business day of scheduled delivery, with the contractor responsible for removing debris after unloading. The contract will be a firm‑fixed‑price award with a performance period of one year (09/11/2026‑09/10/2027). Proposals must include technical capability, approach, and price, and will be evaluated on technical acceptability and price (LPTA/Best Value). • Acquire and deliver a single, fully functional laboratory microtome meeting the specified technical criteria. • Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for delivery, setup, and site cleanup. • Submit technical and price proposals via SAM.gov by 09/08/2026. • Contract type: Firm‑Fixed‑Price, with optional one‑year extension. • Performance period: 12 months, beginning 09/11/2026.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $45,000

The solicitation does not disclose a dollar value. A high‑quality laboratory microtome typically costs between $5,000 and $30,000 depending on features, automation, and brand. Considering the federal procurement process, overhead, and potential warranty extensions, the total contract value is likely in the $10,000‑$45,000 range.
